Technical IT Support Specialist

You will be working in the IT Operations team, supporting all of QDQ, as it continues to grow and mature as a company. The role is an IT Support Specialist and will be a key part of the operational and support side of the IT Operations Team

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide 1st & 2nd line support for all IT related issues for QDQ employees
  • Administering and supporting key business critical applications adhering IT Information Security Policy
  • Work towards operational Service Levels ensuring response and resolution times meet Service Standards set by QDQ it.
  • Proactive identification of recurring faults, and ensuring a complete resolution is put in place to prevent further incidents, following the Problem management process
  • Follow IT support processes; Incident, Problem, Change and Configuration management; logging tickets correctly, meeting agreed SLAs and ensuring an exceptional level of support is provided
  • Manage QDQ’s IT assets and be responsible for configuration management
  • Work with all parts of the Tech Ops team to ensure QDQ employees receive «a best in class» level of support
  • Team player; self-motivated that can initiate ideas, effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment, escalating when necessary

 

Key Skills:

  • 5+ years of IT or Desktop Support / System Administration
  • Service Management/Helpdesk software knowledge
  • The ability to time-manage and prioritize workload effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The aptitude to go that extra mile for your customer
  • Understanding of technical interdependencies between the «end user» device and the underpinning infrastructure
  • Fluent in English and native Spanish speaker

 

3 years of experience in:

  • Linux system administration (Ubuntu, Debian)
  • Virtualized systems with KVM and containerized systems with Docker
  • Kubernetes Cluster Management
  • Web and application servers (Apache, Nginx, Uwgi)
  • Configuration management tools: Puppet, Ansible, Chef
  • Knowledge in bash and python
  • Knowledge in networks, firewalls and Haproxy balancers
  • Mysql and Postgres databases
  • Postfix and Dovecot mail
  • Version Control Systems: Git
  • Cloud Services: Amazon Web Services (EC2 and S3), Google Cloud
  • Experience with monitoring tools: Nagios, Graphite, Prometheus
  • Knowledge of SAN storage hardware
